Regional Plan – Stakeholder Consultation Survey

The Dorrigo Chamber of Commerce encourages all members of our community to participate in the following survey.

Regional Plan – Stakeholder Consultation Survey
Regional Development Australia – Mid North Coast is currently undertaking consultation with regional stakeholders in the development of its 2016-2020 Regional Plan. This Regional Plan is used by the Commonwealth and State Governments to inform their policy and funding decisions for regional Australia.

The Plan identifies the key issues effecting the economic development of the Mid North Coast region and seeks to identify priorities for regional development for 2016-2020. It will also suggest key infrastructure projects and policy recommendations to address these priorities.

The Regional Plan will be a very valuable resource to councils and other regional organisations, providing both qualitative and statistical evidence in support of the economic benefits of key projects and policy recommendations identified within the Plan. This is a common requirement of all major funding applications to the Commonwealth and State Governments and other large funding bodies.
Submissions from all stakeholders will be collated via the online survey at the following link. It will take approximately 30-45 mins to complete.

This survey seeks your feedback on identified issues that directly affect the economic development of the region. It does not focus on social, environmental or cultural issues directly, though in many cases these issues may be closely linked. 20 issues have been identified in this draft issues paper. You can comment on each issue or SKIP any issues that may not be relevant to you.

The issues are categorised into four broad sections as required by the Commonwealth:

  • Education and employment
  • Building sustainable communities
  • Access to international, national and regional markets
  • Business competitiveness

At the end of each section you will have the opportunity to suggest additional regional issues.
It’s important to remember these are draft issues only. They were identified in various reports, informal preliminary consultations and the previous Regional Plan 2013-2016 as a starting point for discussion. However it is the feedback obtained from stakeholders in this consultation process, along with statistical evidence, that will inform the Regional Plan 2016-2020.
Thank you for your participation in this process!
