In the garden, smell the perfume of daphne and gardenia, orange
blossom and wisteria as you stroll by a huge tulip tree and the
remnants of an old post and rail fence to the gallery 's welcoming
doorway.
Here ,too, is a history of the sawmill town of Wiriri, established in 1938,
and abandoned in the late 1940's. A short walk will take you to the site of
the old town and the remaining buildings.
There
is time, here, for the simple pleasures of hearing the wind in the forest
nearby, the humming of bees in the blossom trees, and the song of
shrike thrush, golden whistler, butcher bird and distant lyrebird . We suggest you telephone to ensure that we are open if you are making a special journey. |
