Dorrigo's annual Creative Mountain Arts Exhibition is a vibrant display of local art and craftwork, including fine art, woodwork, glass, ceramics, sculpture, fibre art and leatherwork.
The first exhibition was held in 1986 and has been held every year since 1990. The Community supports the exhibition in many ways from donations, loans of equipment, hardware and skills, providing floral arrangements for the hall and contributing to the Opening Night supper.
Since 2000, the Dorrigo High School students have been invited to exhibit with cash prizes awarded to winning students.
The Dorrigo Plateau is home to numerous talented artists, many of whom are internationally acclaimed. Creative Mountain Arts is an opportunity to see this talent brought together in one venue, where you can purchase works or just enjoy the diversity of art and craft.
The exhibition opens each year on the Thursday before Good Friday at the Community Centre in Hickory Street Dorrigo (the main street), every day for ten days from 10am to 4pm.
