Dorrigo Multipurpose Service provides a range of medical services and primary health care to the Dorrigo Plateau. A twenty four hour emergency service is available and medical services are provided by General Practitioners (Visiting Medical Officers) contracted to the Area Health Service. There are no staff medical officers on site. Dorrigo Health Campus forms part of the network of services across the Area Health Service working closely with Bellingen River District Hospital and Coffs Harbour Base Hospital and specialist services as patient needs require.
Primary Health and Extended Care Services.
The Primary Health team provides comprehensive assessment and referral service, wound care, palliative care, community nursing, education and support, stomal and continence management, before school screening, childhood immunisation, chronic and complex care, and welfare services.
Outreach services include continence management, diabetes, dietetics, child and family health, mental health, drug and alcohol counselling, podiatry, occupational therapy, audiometry, sexual health and aged care.
Dorrigo MPS Advisory Committee is responsible for communicating issues to the North Coast Area Health Service, and for advising the community on available services. It aims to improve the health status of the Dorrigo Community through Health Education Forums.
Membership is voluntary. Vacant positions are advertised.
Meetings are held monthly on the 3rd Monday at 2 pm in the Meeting Room at Dorrigo Health Campus.
