For a relaxing farmland and forest drive, take the Armidale Road about 10km out of Dorrigo and watch for the Fernbrook Loop Road sign off the to the right.
It's only about 5km loop but it's high and you'll look north over the Little Murray River and grazing country. When you reach the Waterfall Way again drive on another 5km to the Deer Vale Road which is another loop road and this will bring you back to within 5km on Dorrigo.
This is mostly forested with a nature reserve on the left and you'll cross the Little Murray River that you saw above on the Fernbrook Loop Road.
Rejoining the Waterfall Way on your way back to Dorrigo you will see some of the finest grazing countryside in the State.
