The museum has a special collection of family histories, archives and museum pieces including a unique group of antique machinery housed in an adjoining special machinery shed.
The Society is at present involved with a major project:
-
The oral history project Lets Talk about the War for which they received a VIM Small Grant from Museums and Galleries NSW.
A project to digitally record cemetery records, including photographing headstones from the Dorrigo Cemetery is also in the pipeline.
We have also agreed to work with the organisers of the Dorrigo Folk and Bluegrass Festival on a project (in it's formative stages), involving oral history where history put to music (with syllabus-related content) is to be brought into the schools.
